The Door of Demons
By hangyeongha
On a rainy, damp evening, 17-year-old high school girl Akari Sakamoto sneaks out of school and heads for Mount Yamagami. Always fascinated by the occult and horror, she was curious to try out a spell she'd found in an ancient tome that would open a "gate of demons.
Arriving at the ruined shrine on the side of the mountain, Akari drew the spell on the worn floor and lit a red candle. Silently reciting a spell-
rustle.
Turning around in surprise, she saw a schoolboy in uniform emerge from the dark bushes.
“Sorry, I'm just following you, I'm from a shaman family and it feels a little weird...”
His name is Haruse Takami, a “messenger of God” who realized his spiritual abilities at a young age.
"That's dangerous. You shouldn't open that door."
But it was too late.
At the back of the shrine, a hole covered by a rock slowly opened, releasing a misty darkness.
And... a strange creature crawled out of the mist.
“It's... an Ubame... a youkai that only eats children!”
Takami shouted, clutching his staff in his hand, and a gust of wind whipped up.
The youkai gate opened.
The boundary between the world and the youkai world has been broken, and strange events begin to occur at night.
They decided to join forces and seal the youkai away.
In addition to Takami and Akari, two other helpers have been gathered.
Hiro Mikazuki - The heir to a former shrine, but a survivor whose entire family was wiped out by youkai. He has a special ability to communicate with ghosts. His eyes are always vacant and he is always followed by a black crow.
Rei Tsurugi - A girl raised in a cult, she has extreme inspirational powers, but suffers from hearing voices and hallucinations as a side effect. She says that “youkai are inside of us.”
Rumors of someone disappearing at night, eyeless demons crawling through the classrooms, and a school-wide panic grips the school.
In the middle of the night, in the art room on the third floor of the school, the sound of someone's fingernails scratching against the wall is heard.
“Help... It's dark and I'm hungry... Give me someone...”
The voice sounded exactly like the voice of Akari's friend who went missing a year ago.
Now, they had to go beyond simply sealing the youkai-
and face what was on the other side of the door.
