Setting:
The story takes place in a post-war forested region known as Letiere, a once-burned land slowly returning to life. The forest holds ancient memory and power, manifesting through the “Elm of Memory,” an enormous tree tied to the forgotten past.
Main Characters:
Lia: A 15-year-old girl with long black wavy hair and a few loose braids. Wears a practical tunic made from coarse cotton, riding trousers, and a leather corset belt. She has the mysterious ability to communicate with plants and sense the memory of the forest.
Kalen: A young man in his early 20s, formerly of noble blood but now a quiet swordsman. He wears a restructured medieval court uniform with no insignia, and has medium-length naturally wavy dark hair. Calm, observant, unknowingly drawn to Lia’s presence.
Saelen: An older man with gray, unkempt hair and sightless gray eyes. Once a warrior, now cloaked in silence. Wears linen layers and a heavy worn cloak. Though blind, he ‘hears’ the forest better than anyone.
Count Alnor: A calculating nobleman in his late 30s. Dresses in black and red armor, a symbol of his power. He plots to reclaim the forest not just militarily, but for its dormant magic. Cold, elegant, and dangerously composed.
Locations:
Edgewood – The misty outer edge of the forest, where red stakes mark military intrusion.
The Elm of Memory – A sacred tree that channels ancient memories of war and fire.
Forgotten Ruins – The shattered remains of a war archive, overgrown with moss.
Silent Pathway – A quiet trail where Lia, Kalen, and Saelen begin walking together.
Cliff Over Letiere – Alnor’s strategic high ground, where he observes the forest and prepares his conquest.
