EXT. PHYSICS LAB - NIGHT VICTORY is a fit athletic Mixed Race female with blonde-reddish hair in a bun with bright violet eyes, wearing a green hoodie and blue jeans, and pink tennis shoes. SOPHIE is a young college woman, American, 24 years old, with an round happy face, short black hair, glasses, wearing dark trousers, light grey short sleeve shirt, and white tennis shoes. VICTORY hurries along the sidewalk, SOPHIE close behind. VICTORY I’ve got the device figured out. They reach the entrance but the door’s locked. SOPHIE Great. It’s a sign. Let’s go home. Sophie glances over her shoulder, up and down the empty street nervous. When she looks back to the door, Victory’s gone. The window to the left is ajar. Victory opens the door from the inside a moment later. INT. PHYSICS LAB They creep through the dark lab, Scooby Doo style, until they reach the Gridley Wave Device. Victory fiddles with it, turns it on. It crackles and smokes, then shuts off. SOPHIE (whispering) Let’s get out of here. We’ll go get coffee and calm you down. Victory turns to her friend, mouth open but before she can say anything she’s sucked INTO the device, disappearing before Sophie’s eyes. EXT. SPACE - NIGHT We travel through the angles of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ worlds - Mars and its red deserts, its icy mountains. Tarzan’s jungle, full of the Mangani, wild ape-like beasts with large fangs, beating at their chests. EXT. PELLUCIDAR - DAY
