Kutlu Mızrak

Rain lashed against the windows of Rick Valentine's office, mirroring the turmoil in his gut. The flickering neon sign outside painted the room in alternating shades of sickly green and bruised purple. He took a long drag from his cigarette, the smoke curling around his face like a shroud. This new case felt different, heavier somehow. A dame named Seraphina Bellweather had walked in earlier, all trembling lips and haunted eyes, claiming her husband, a renowned alchemist, had vanished into thin air. Rick stubbed out his cigarette, the embers glowing like tiny, accusing eyes. He grabbed his trench coat, the worn fabric offering little comfort against the chill that had settled deep in his bones. "Alright, Bellweather," he muttered, pulling his fedora low over his brow, "let's see what secrets your husband was brewing." He stepped out into the rain-slicked streets, the city's underbelly calling to him once more. The air was thick with the smell of ozone and desperation. He flipped up the collar of his coat, a grim determination hardening his gaze, and began walking toward the Bellweather estate.

The Bellweather estate loomed ahead, a gothic monstrosity silhouetted against the stormy sky. Rain hammered down, turning the cobblestone driveway into a treacherous river. As Valentine approached, a figure emerged from the shadows, blocking his path. He was immense, easily six-and-a-half feet tall, with shoulders like a seasoned ogre and arms thick as tree trunks. His face was a granite mask, framed by a tangled mane of black hair streaked with silver. Piercing blue eyes, like chips of glacial ice, glinted with suspicion and hostility in the dim light. He wore a long, dark coat that billowed in the wind, obscuring what lay beneath, but Rick could sense the coiled power radiating from him. "State your business," the giant rumbled, his voice a low growl that seemed to vibrate in Valentine's chest. It was clear this man was more than just a gatekeeper; he was a guardian, a sentinel protecting secrets far more dangerous than a missing alchemist. Seraphina's husband’s disappearance was just the beginning.
